Indoor Air Quality Monitor
Poor indoor air quality can have a surprisingly wide range of serious health effects, especially when exposure is prolonged.
You may notice immediate IAQ problems in a room with musty or unpleasant odors, cold or hot spots, or drafts. Beyond causing discomfort, these conditions and others can impact functional health significantly. For example, one little-known, but especially undesirable, health effect comes from high levels of carbon dioxide, which makes a room feel too “stuffy.” In these conditions, your mental abilities are lessened and learning is slowed.
Further, contaminants like dust, mold, pollen, pet dander, and chemicals from household products can aggravate respiratory issues such as asthma and allergies. Inadequate ventilation, especially in crowded areas, increases the chance of contracting infectious disease. And long-term exposure to pollutants like carbon monoxide or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) may lead to headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and even more serious conditions such as cardiovascular problems or neurological damage.
For children, the elderly, and those with preexisting health issues, the risks are even higher.
Breathing clean air indoors isn’t just a comfort—it’s essential to overall well-being.
AirAdvice Model 5100 and 5200 IAQ monitors survey indoor air quality, measuring particulate matter, chemical pollutants, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature and relative humidity.
The monitor collects IAQ data continuously, stores it in 1-minute intervals, and sends that data to the AirAdvice servers via its built-in land line modem. When not connected, the monitor can store data for up to 14 days.
Simple to use, the monitor plugs into a wall outlet and is left undisturbed to ensure findings will be reliable. We provide instruction about effective locations for each monitor, and multiple monitors can be deployed to provide a more complete picture of IAQ. Once placed, the monitor takes in room air through a fan, samples it electronically, and then expels it.
We send confidential weekly reports to you describing each measured component of indoor air and the reasons for sampling it. The reports then compare the level of that component throughout the day to desirable levels. We help you interpret these results, which are also presented in graphic form. And when a health, safety or comfort concern arises, we assist you in exploring remedies in a sometimes-delicate political environment.
We look forward to helping you improve your indoor environment and overall well-being!
